New England’s largest sports facility in terms of seating capacity, the Speedway is also the site of the first sporting event in New England to draw over 100,000 fans in a single day. The track officially opened in 1990 with its first Wall D?cor > Hardboards (Blockmounts) > Sports > Nascar Nationwide Series race in July of that year. The first Wall D?cor > Hardboards (Blockmounts) > Sports > Nascar Sprint Cup Series race was in July 1993. Today, the track hosts two annual Wall D?cor > Hardboards (Blockmounts) > Sports > Nascar Sprint Cup Series races. The facility includes a 1.058-mile oval superspeedway and a 12-turn, 1.6-mile road course.
