This aerial panorama of Bristol Motor Speedway was taken by Christopher Gjevre and features the first night race since the track was reconfigured. Changes were made to the track in response to fan requests and to return the Speedway to its iconic status – “the hottest ticket in motorsports.” Located in Bristol, Tennessee, the Speedway was constructed in 1960 and held its first race the following year. The entrepreneurs who built the track fashioned the Speedway after Charlotte Motor Speedway, but opted for a smaller, more intimate setting and erected a half-mile facility. Despite its small size, Bristol is among the most popular tracks in Wall D?cor > Hardboards (Blockmounts) > Sports > Nascar® and has been known as the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”
